Broadway International Group, Broadway Asia Group, AMA Group of Companies, in association with GMG Productions, today announced a special Filipino Sign Language (FSL)-interpreted performance of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

In collaboration with Deaf consultants and FSL interpreters from the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Center for Education Advancement of the Deaf (CEAD) and the School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies – Interpreting Education Program (SDEAS-IEP), the July 22, 2026 performance at the Theatre at Solaire will feature live FSL interpretation, allowing Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing audiences to experience the musical with access to both the performance and its dialogue.

A dedicated orchestra seating section has been reserved for Deaf audience members and their companions, providing sightlines to both the stage and the live FSL interpreters. These seats are available through the promo code ACCESSSEATS, which provides a 20% discount. Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing patrons with a valid PWD ID may also avail of the standard PWD discount at physical TicketWorld outlets.

“Live theatre should be an experience everyone can enjoy,” said Marc Routh, CEO of Broadway Asia. “We’re proud to continue expanding access to the performing arts through this FSL-interpreted performance. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a story about imagination, possibility, and wonder, and we’re excited to help make that experience more inclusive for members of the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community.”

The initiative builds on GMG Productions’ ongoing efforts to make international theater productions more accessible in the Philippines through partnerships with members of the Deaf community and sign language professionals.

The production stars Daniel Plimpton as Willy Wonka, with Oliver T. Wong and Cohen Toukatly alternating as Charlie Bucket. Also in the cast are Karylle as Mrs. Bucket, Steve McCoy as Grandpa Joe, Mychal Phillips as Grandma Josephine, and Michael Dalke as Grandpa George.

Based on Roald Dahl’s novel of the same name, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory follows young Charlie Bucket as he embarks on a golden-ticket journey into the mysterious world of Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. The musical features a book by David Greig, music by Marc Shaiman, and lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Wittman, and includes songs from the 1971 film adaptation such as “Pure Imagination,” “The Candy Man,” and “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket,” alongside an original score. The story brings to life a world of chocolate rivers, nut-sorting squirrels, Oompa-Loompas, and Wonka’s inventions through large-scale theatrical effects and production design.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will run from July 8 to 26 at The Theatre at Solaire.
