Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, a musical based on the 1964 children’s novel by Roald Dahl, is coming to The Theatre at Solaire this July 2026.

Early ticket access will be available through UnionBank of the Philippines from January 12 to 15, 2026, via TicketWorld. GMG Productions will also offer a special waitlist for early seating access ahead of the public sale. The early waitlist is now open via GMG’s website until January 14 at 11:59pm Philippine Time. Tickets will go on sale to the general public via TicketWorld on January 17, 2026.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, with a book by David Greig, music by Marc Shaiman, and lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Wittman, follows young Charlie Bucket’s golden-ticket adventure into the mysterious and magical world of Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. From chocolate rivers to nut-sorting squirrels and mischievous Oompa-Loompas, the musical is known for its eye-popping visuals, larger-than-life characters, immersive audience experience, and toe-tapping music.

Transforming Willy Wonka’s fantastical factory into a world where the impossible feels possible, Las Vegas magic and illusion designer Tim Clothier joins the Broadway team and says, “Willy Wonka is the king of imagination, and being able to design new stage wizardry for that character is a dream come true.”

The Broadway production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory premiered in 2017, running for over 300 performances, followed by a four-year North American tour through 2022. The musical also ran on London’s West End, where the production received two Olivier Awards. This global tour is scheduled to run for two to three years across Asia, the Middle East, and India, with stops in cities including Manila, Hong Kong, Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai, Hainan, Taipei, and Seoul.

The musical includes songs from the 1971 film, including “Pure Imagination,” “The Candy Man,” and “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket,” alongside original music by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray, Mary Poppins Returns). It will run at The Theatre at Solaire in Manila from July 8 to July 26, 2026. The production is presented by Broadway International Group and Broadway Asia, in association with HY Culture Fund, Doug Meyer, AMA Group, GMG Productions, UnionBank of the Philippines, Bergamot Front Row Fund, and Willette Klausner.

With original direction by four-time Tony Award–winning director Jack O’Brien and original choreography by Joshua Bergasse, the global tour features direction by Matt Lenz, choreography by Alison Solomon, and musical supervision by Nate Patten and Greg Jarrett, alongside an award-winning Broadway creative, design, and production team. The team includes Mark Thompson (set and costume design), Christine Peters (tour scenic design), Jeff Sugg (projections), Rory Beaton (lighting), Mike Thacker for Orbital Sound (sound design), Basil Twist (puppet design), and Tim Clothier (illusions). Orchestrations are by Doug Besterman, with musical arrangements by Marc Shaiman. Casting is by Paul Hardt Casting. Joseph Longthorne serves as General Manager, with Tayn Yeo as Associate Manager for Broadway Asia International. GMG serves as Manila General Manager.
