Auditions Announced for ATEG’s Waitress!
Atlantis Theatrical (ATEG) has just announced open auditions for its upcoming run of Waitress! The call is for ALL roles in the show. Auditions are scheduled for February 7, 2018, 11am-5pm at the Opera Haus. Be ready to prepare 16 bars of a Sara Bareilles song sung in her style. Bring sheet music.
The show begins rehearsals on September 24 and will run from November 9-December 2.
The company just announced last January 27 that it will in fact be staging the Tony-nominated musical, whose music and lyrics were written by Tony and Grammy-nominated artist Sara Bareilles. Bareilles currently stars in its Broadway run. The show was nominated for four Tony Awards on Broadway including Best Musical.
Waitress is about disillusioned Jenna Hunterson and how her baking skills and the unexpected relationship she develops with the town doctor change her life. Based on the 2007 movie, and with a book written by Jessie Nelson, the musical has been running on Broadway since 2016.
