‘Heathers the Musical’ West End Production Coming to Manila in January 2027
The West End production of Heathers the Musical is coming to Manila for the first time in January 2027 at The Theatre at Solaire.
Presented in Manila by GMG Productions in association with Bill Kenwright Ltd. and Paul Taylor-Mills, the production recently played a 52-performance West End season at The Arts at Marble Arch from July 9 to August 22, 2026. The same production then embarked on a UK and Ireland tour, which began at Theatre Royal Windsor on August 26.
The tour continues through Leeds, Nottingham, Coventry, Darlington, Poole, Leicester, Peterborough, Sheffield, Blackpool, Cheltenham, Chichester, Dublin, and Oxford, where it concludes its 2026 dates on November 28. Following its Manila engagement, the tour is scheduled to resume in the UK at Hull New Theatre on February 16, 2027, with further stops in Liverpool, Manchester, York, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Bradford, Chelmsford, and Torquay.
Based on the 1989 film starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, Heathers the Musical follows Veronica Sawyer, a student at Westerberg High who finds herself welcomed into the school’s most popular clique, the Heathers. Her newfound status becomes increasingly complicated when she meets mysterious new student Jason “J.D.” Dean, setting off a series of increasingly dark events.
The musical features music, lyrics, and a book by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O’Keefe, with songs including “Seventeen,” “Candy Store,” “Meant to Be Yours,” “I Say No,” and “Dead Girl Walking.” It first premiered in Los Angeles in 2013 before transferring to New York’s New World Stages in 2014. The production was reworked for its London premiere in 2018.
The entire cast of the production’s recent West End run, who are currently touring the UK and Ireland, will come to Manila. Gerardine Sacdalan stars as Veronica Sawyer, having previously played Juliet in the UK tour of & Juliet. Louis Hearsey plays Jason “J.D.” Dean, with Liberty Stottor as Heather Chandler, Jessica Ibadin as Heather Duke, and Lou Henry as Heather McNamara.
Also in the cast are Veronica Carabai as Ms. Fleming and Veronica’s Mom, Sophie Manners as Martha Dunnstock, Markus Södergren as Kurt Kelly, Beau Jackson as Ram Sweeney, John Gurdían as Ram’s Dad, Big Bud Dean, and Coach Ripper, and Reuben Browne as Kurt’s Dad, Veronica’s Dad, and Principal Gowan.
Rounding out the company are Christian De-Gallerie as Preppy Stud and Officer, Ellouise Delooze as New Wave Party Girl, Caitlin Garcia as Drama Club Drama Queen, Alexander Howarth as Hipster Dork, Charlotte O’Rourke as Midwestern Surfer Punk, Thomas Oxley as Beleaguered Geek, Tola Sokoya as Young Republicanette, and Carys Taylor as Stoner Chick.
The production is directed by Andy Fickman, with choreography by Gary Lloyd, design by David Shields, lighting by Ben Cracknell, sound by Dan Samson, and musical supervision by Jeremy Wootton and Will Joy.
Heathers the Musical runs from January 21 to February 7, 2027 at The Theatre at Solaire. Tickets go on sale to the general public on September 13. A UnionBank presale will run from September 8 to 11, followed by a waitlist sale on September 12, with both offering a 10% discount.
The production is recommended for audiences ages 14 and above and contains haze, loud noises including gunshots, flashing lights and strobe, strong language, and mature themes including murder, suicide, sexual violence, and references to eating disorders.
