‘Brunch with the Bard’ Open Scene Event Happening This Sunday
Tridem Collective Entertainment will hold its first open scene event, Brunch with the Bard, this Sunday, April 26, open to both seasoned performers and beginners interested in engaging with Shakespeare in a welcoming, workshop-style setting.
The session will begin with a short guided workshop on approaching Shakespearean text, followed by an open scene segment where participants may perform monologues or scenes. Open scene formats, commonly used in acting workshops, provide a space for performers to present prepared or spontaneous material in a low-pressure environment. These sessions often encourage feedback, discussion, and exploration, particularly for those looking to deepen their engagement with text and performance. In this format, participants can test interpretations, experiment with delivery, and respond to the work of others in a shared setting.
The event will be facilitated by Miel Barrera Abong, Tridem’s artistic director and director of the group’s recently concluded production, Love’s Labour’s Won, a modern rendition of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. Love’s Labour’s Won marks Tridem Collective Entertainment’s second production, following its debut staging of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream in September 2025.
Brunch with the Bard will take place from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at WILD Cafe & Bar, located at 5903 Matilde St., Poblacion. Participation is priced at P600, inclusive of a redeemable food or drink item, workshop fee, and materials such as scripts. Registration is available via Instagram (@tttridem), with slots limited to 20 participants.
Participants may bring their own Shakespearean monologue, scene, or sonnet to perform, or attend as observers and engage with the session informally.
Tridem Collective Entertainment is a performing arts group focused on training and staging productions.
