Wicked: For Good, the second part of Jon M. Chu’s two-part film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical Wicked, is now showing in Philippine cinemas.

The film continues the story of Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande), following the events of 2024’s Wicked: Part One. Based on the stage musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman, Wicked reimagines the origins of the witches of Oz, exploring themes of friendship, power, and moral complexity just before Dorothy’s arrival.

Wicked: For Good picks up after Elphaba’s escape from the Emerald City, following her growing defiance against the Wizard’s regime and the unraveling of her friendship with Glinda. The film brings back a number of principal cast members from Part One, including Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Ethan Slater as Boq, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard, Marissa Bode as Nessarose, Bowen Yang as Pfannee, Bronwyn James as ShenShen, and Keala Settle as Miss Coddle.

Jon M. Chu, known for Crazy Rich Asians and In the Heights, returns to direct the sequel, which adapts the second act of the stage musical. The screenplay was written by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox, based on the stage musical by Schwartz and Holzman, which was in turn adapted from Gregory Maguire’s novel.

The official soundtrack for Wicked: For Good will be released on November 21, 2025, coinciding with the film’s U.S. theatrical release. Stephen Schwartz has written two new songs for the film—“No Place Like Home,” performed by Cynthia Erivo, and “The Girl in the Bubble,” performed by Ariana Grande.

The soundtrack will also include “The Wicked Witch of the East,” a number from the original stage musical that makes its first on-screen appearance in this sequel. The song was notably left off the 2003 Broadway cast recording, as producers felt it contained too much dialogue and could reveal key plot points to those who had not yet seen the show.

The film runs for approximately 2 hours and 18 minutes and is now screening across major cinema chains nationwide, including SM Cinemas, Ayala Malls Cinemas, and Vista Cinemas.
