‘Almost, Maine’ to be Staged in Cebu this July
Cebu-based theater company Little Boy Productions is set to stage John Cariani’s Almost, Maine on July 26, 7 PM at the UP Cebu Performing Arts Hall.
Set in a small mythical town beneath the northern lights, the romantic comedy unfolds as a series of nine short plays exploring the joys and heartbreaks of falling in and out of love. Since premiering Off-Broadway in 2006, the play has become one of the most produced in North America.
The cast includes Nyegs Abayon, Yalena Ysabel Achacoso, Rhea Fantonial Bautista, Jay Chan II, Claire Codilla, Jolu Escano, Maxim Ilagan, Nelson Judaya, Chloe Palang, Robert Palomo, Thomas Pua, Jean Mari Saraña, John Sitchon, and Yesha Suralta.
Previous productions by Little Boy Productions in the Visayas include Once on This Island, as well as the Asian premieres of Disney’s High School Musical and The Last Five Years. Their mission to bridge regional and national talent continues with Almost, Maine, which features an ensemble of both emerging and seasoned Cebuano performers.
Repertory Philippines also staged a production of Almost, Maine in 2016, featuring Reb Atadero, Caisa Borromeo, Jamie Wilson, and Naths Everett.
Tickets start at P300 and are available via TicketMelon.
