‘Reverse Card’ Psychological Thriller Coming this August
Artist Playground marks its 10th anniversary with the premiere of Reverse Card, a new psychological thriller by Chase Kyle Loza, directed by Paul Jake Paule.
The play follows a gay author who has been tormented throughout his life due to his gender identity. In a moment of vulnerability, he invites his former classmate and longtime bully, John, to his home. However, the evening takes a sinister turn as the author’s latest play is rejected in favor of John’s work.
Starring Gerhard Krysstopher as Marvin and Gerald Magallanes as John, the two-hander aims to immerse audiences in the suffocating space between two characters locked in a devastating battle. More than a war of words, the play is a visceral confrontation between humiliation and dignity.
Joining Paule and Loza in the creative team are Roeder Camañag (artistic director), John Denver Martin (lighting designer and stage manager), and Christian Silang (projection designer).
The show runs on August 2 and 3 at 3 PM and 7 PM at the Black Box Theater, Erehwon Center for the Arts. Tickets are priced at P1,500 and can be purchased via Ticket2Me.
