As previously reported, PETA is bringing back Rody Vera’s Walang Aray, a hilarious reimagining of Severino Reyes’ classic zarzuela Walang Sugat, from August 29 to October 12, 2025, at the PETA Theater Center.

The rerun opens PETA’s 58th theater season, themed “Love and Power.” Promising sharper text and a refreshed staging, director Ian Segarra—now joined by associate director Norbs Portales—breathes new life into the musical without losing its original appeal.

Rody Vera’s script continues to highlight the play’s themes of resistance and romance, now enriched with updated contemporary references. Vince Lim, who won the Gawad Buhay for Outstanding Original Score, adds a playful new number to Walang Aray’s infectious pop musical catalog.

The updated production features a mix of new and returning cast members. Gio Gahol and Jon Abella reprise the role of Tenyong, while Shaira Opsimar and Marynor Madamesila return as Julia. Joining them is Lance Reblando, who also debuts as Julia.

They are joined by original cast members Bene Manaois (Miguel), Kiki Baento (Monica), Carlon Matobato (Lucas), Neomi Gonzales (Juana), Gie Onida and Csairus Habla (Don Tadeo), and Johnnie Moran (Padre Alfaro), along with original ensemble members Jarred Jaicten, Gerard Dy, Yeyin de la Cruz, Ayla Garcia, and Ada Tayao.

Also joining the cast are Jolina Magdangal, making her theater debut as Julia’s quirky and over-the-top mother, Doña Juana, and Ice Seguerra as Lucas, Tenyong’s loyal and playful sidekick, alternating with Matobato. Gold Villar-Lim shares the role of Juana with Gonzales and Magdangal.

Rendell Sanchez joins the cast as Miguel, Divine Aucina as Monica, and Roi Calilong as Padre Alfaro. New ensemble members include James Lanante, MC Dela Cruz, Bomba Ding, Otep Madriaga, Miah Canton, Matel Patayon, and Zoe Damag.

Tickets will be available starting June 28 via Ticket2Me.

An exclusive discounted pre-sale for Metrobank credit cardholders runs from June 28 to July 1, 2025. Public ticket sales begin on July 2, 2025. Prices are as follows: P2,500 (VIP Front and VIP Elevated), P2,000 (Orchestra Center and Balcony Center), P1,500 (Orchestra Side), and P1,200 (Balcony Side).

Walang Aray is produced by PETA in partnership with Indie.Go Media, in collaboration with Metrobank.
