MusicArtes Inc. is set to stage its Opera Intima twin bill this February, featuring Francis Poulenc’s La Voix Humaine and a dramatic monologue in Filipino entitled Boses. The production will open on February 15 at The Mirror Studio Theater under the direction of Anton Juan and the musical direction of Arthur Espiritu, with Rudolph Golez on piano.

La Voix Humaine: Featuring soprano Kay Balajadia, this opera intima by Poulenc explores the emotional complexity of a woman’s final telephone conversation with her lover, who has left her for another. As she navigates lies, manipulation, guilt, and gaslighting, an undertow of love persists beneath it all. Will she lose herself entirely or find justice in the end?

Boses: A Dramatic Monologue in Filipino will be brought to life by Drag Race Philippines’ Brigiding.
