WATCH: 15 Performances from the 2021 Tony Awards
The Tony Awards for Broadway’s 2019-2020 season, after much delay, finally pushed yesterday.
The awarding ceremonies streamed live via the American streaming service Paramount+ on September 26, 7pm ET, hosted by Audra McDonald. It was then followed by a live special entitled The Tony Awards Present: Broadway’s Back, which aired on the American television network CBS, featuring performances from Broadway artists, past Broadway shows, as well as performances from this season’s Tony nominees, hosted by Leslie Odom Jr.
Moulin Rouge! won big with 10 Tony Awards including Best Musical, while The Inheritance won Best Play. Slave Play, which had garnered a whopping 12 Tony nominations, surprisingly won none. You can read more about the winners here.
