This year’s awards ceremony honors shows of 2019-2020 that were affected by lockdown measures. Due to the shortened season, only 18 shows were eligible, resulting in interesting nominations such as Aaron Tveit being the sole nominee in his category.
Hosted by six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald, the show featured performers and presenters including Darren Criss, Bernadette Peters, Lea Salonga, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Kristin Chenoweth, Jake Gyllenhaal, Idina Menzel, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom, Jr., Ben Platt, and more.
