‘Disenchanted’ Off-Broadway Musical to Stream
Disenchanted, the off-Broadway musical, featuring fairy-tale princesses telling their stories in exciting new ways, will be streamed next month.
The show opened off-Broadway in 2014 and centers on the stories of iconic princesses and how they decide to set the record straight about their more famous portrayals on the stage and screen.
Disenchanted has a book, music and lyrics by Dennis T Giacino. The production to be streamed was filmed entirely on green screen and was directed by Tom Jackson Greaves, with musical direction by George Dyer, hair design by Charlotte Wilkson, make-up by Abbi Rose, and filming by The Umbrella Rooms.
The cast features several alums from SIX The Musical such as Jodie Steele as Snow White, Sophie Isaacs as Cinderella, Grace Mouat as Pocahontas, Millie O’Connell as The Little Mermaid, and Courtney Bowman as Badroulbadour. The rest of the cast include Shanay Holmes (RENT, The Bodyguard) as The Princess Who Kissed The Frog, Natalie Chua (Priscilla Queen of the Desert; Bat Out of Hell) as Hua Mulan, Allie Daniel (RENT, The Secret Society of Leading Ladies) as Cinderella, Aisha Jawando (Tina the Musical, Motown the Musical) as Belle and Jenny O’Leary (Heathers, We Will Rock You) as Rapunzel.
Tickets are £15 and the show will be available on the stream.theatre platform from April 9 to 11.
The first 200 tickets purchased to the premiere performance (9 April) will also receive exclusive access to the “VIP after party” with the cast on Zoom.
This show is not to be confused with the upcoming sequel to Disney’s 2007 film, Enchanted, which also shares the same title.
