More Broadway Stars in Online Concert
The Seth Concert Series will continue its successful run in November with Broadway stars Beth Malone, Wayne Brady, Lillias White, Adam Pascal, Patti Murin, and Colin O’Donnell.
The Seth Concert Series is a weekly virtual series based on musical director and Sirius XM star Seth Rudetsky’s “Broadway @ the Art House” concerts that began in Provincetown. The virtual series was launched on May 31 with Tony-winner Kelli O’Hara, followed by performances by Jeremy Jordan, Jessie Mueller, Lea Salonga, Melissa Errico, Audra McDonald, Norm Lewis, Megan Hilty, Cheyenne Jackson, Liz Callaway, Stephanie J. Block, Rachel Bay Jones, Sierra Boggess, Karen Olivo, Judy Kuhn, Orfeh and Andy Karl, Beth Leavel, Keala Settle, and LaChanze.
Each episode is hosted by Rudetsky himself and features a unique combination of memorable performances as well as insightful, revealing, and hilarious anecdotes from the artist’s illustrious careers. Here is the schedule for the upcoming concerts:
November 1: Beth Malone
Malone was nominated for a Tony Award for originating the role of Alison in the 2015 Tony-winning musical Fun Home. She has also originated other roles on Broadway such as June Carter Cash in Ring of Fire and Betty Jean in The Marvelous Wonderettes. Other Broadway credits include the title role in The Unsinkable Molly Brown and the Angel in the revival of Angels in America.
November 8: Jessie Mueller
Mueller won a Tony Award for playing the lead role in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. She has also been nominated for Tonys for her performances in On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, Waitress, and Carousel. Other theater credits include A Little Night Music, She Loves Me, Guys and Dolls, Merrily We Roll Along, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and The Music Man. This will be Mueller’s second outing on The Seth Concert Series having performed earlier this year.
November 15: Lillias White
White won the Tony Award for her performance as Sonya in Cy Coleman and Ira Gasman’s This Life. She made her Broadway debut in Barnum and her other stage credits include Cats, Carrie, Dreamgirls, Once On This Island, How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Chicago, and Fela! (for which she received a Tony nomination). Among her many screen roles she voiced Calliope, the lead Muse, in Disney’s Hercules.
November 22: Adam Pascal
Pascal is most known for originating the role of Roger in Jonathan Larson’s hit musical Rent. He reprised this role for the film version of the show. He also originated the role of Radames in Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida. His other stage credits include Cabaret, Memphis, Chicago, Disaster!, Chess, Something Rotten!, and the musical version of Pretty Woman.
November 29: Patti Murin and Colin Donnell
Murin is best known for originating the role fo Princess Anna in the stage version of Disney’s Frozen. Her other Broadway credits include the title character in Lysistrata Jones, Glinda in Wicked, and Euterpe in Xanadu. Off-Broadway credits include Love’s Labour Lost, Fly By Night, and Lady Be Good! Her television credits include roles in Chicago Med and Royal Pains.
Donnell’s Broadway credits include Violet, Jersey Boys, and Anything Goes, for which he earned Drama Desk, Outer Critics and Astaire nominations. Other stage credits include Follies, Merrily We Roll Along, Lady Be Good, and Love’s Labour Lost, starring with his wife, Patti Murin. His television credits include roles in Arrow, The Affair, Pan Am, Person of Interest, and The Mysteries of Laura.
January 10: Wayne Brady
Brady has won multiple Emmy Awards and been nominated for a Grammy for his work on stage and screen as an actor, singer, dancer, improviser, songwriter, and television personality. His improv prowess is regularly being showcased in the show Whose Line Is It Anyway? and he was named the winner of the second season of The Masked Singer. His stage credits include roles in Chicago, Kinky Boots, and Hamilton.
All concerts premiere on Sunday nights at 8PM ET (Monday mornings, 8am Philippine time) with a second viewing on Monday at 3PM ET (Tuesday mornings, 3am Philippine time) for viewers in other time zones.
