Tony 2019 Nominations: “Hadestown” Leads with 14!
The nominations for the 2019 Tony Awards have just been announced!
“Hadestown” lead the musical categories with 14 nominations (followed by “Ain’t Too Proud—The Life and Times of The Temptations” with 12 and “Tootsie” with 11), while “The Ferryman” leads the play categories with 9. Tony Award winner and Dulaang UP alum Clint Ramos has also been nominated for Best Costume Design of a Play for his work in “Torch Song”.
The announcements were made by Tony Award Winners Bebe Neuwirth (Sweet Charity, Chicago) and Brandon Victor Dixon (Hedwig and the Angry Inch as producer) at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.
