“Noli Me Tangere the Opera” Announces June Rerun
“Noli Me Tangere the Opera”, which just concluded its 2019 rerun last March, is returning to the CCP Main Theater for a limited run this June.
The production is part of the celebration for CCP’s 50th year. It was first created in 1957 by National Artists Guillermo Tolentino and Felipe Padilla de Leon, and is noted as the first Filipino full-length opera. The story is based on the acclaimed novel by Filipino hero Dr. Jose Rizal.
Returning cast members for the rerun have yet to be announced.
The show is co-produced by the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and J&S Productions Inc., and directed by Jerry Sibal (who also serves as set and costume designer). Other members of the artistic team also include Jose Jeffrey Camanag (co-director), Raul Sunico (project director), Albert Figueras (co-costume designer), Dennis Marasigan (lighting designer), Ronan Ferrer (vocal coach and choirmaster), Dingdong Fiel (pianist and assistant musical director), TJ Ramos (sound engineer), Alan Dela Rama (graphics and video designer), and Jojo Casim as (production manager).
“Noli Me Tangere the Opera” will only be running for 3 performances from June 21-23 at 2pm.
