Lin Manuel Miranda’s Facebook page

Days after posting a cryptic message on the Hamilton musical’s official Twitter and Facebook accounts highlighting today’s date, the show’s team announced the release of the official Hamilton app on the App Store (for iOS) and on Google Play (for Android).

The app features the latest news about the show, shareable Hamilton-themed stickers and filters (called #HamCam), a merchandise section that allows you to purchase show souvenirs in the app, and the all-important lottery for tickets. Fans can enter the affectionately called #Ham4Ham lottery to win two tickets for only 10 USD. At the moment only tickets for the Los Angeles run are available, though other cities will be added soon.

The team behind the app also promised that it will continue to be updated with more new features and exclusive content such as augmented reality and karaoke. As Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda said in a statement, “With the roll out of the HamApp, we are setting the stage, but it’s just the opening number. There is a lot more to this app that’s on the way, and I’m very excited to share it all with our fans in the coming months.”

Miranda broke his Twitter hiatus to share the news with his fans, and promised a new live #Ham4Ham in Los Angeles as well!

The ad for the app was also released on YouTube today, with more information available on the official Hamilton site.

It’s safe to say that this news has blown us all away. It’s time to get downloading!
