Lin-Manuel Miranda, John Legend to Perform in Oscars 2017
Every year, nominees from the Best Original Song category perform at the highly coveted Academy Awards. Yesterday, the Academy has announced who will be taking the spotlight come February 2017.
For Moana, Auli’i Cravalho and theater superstar Lin-Manuel Miranda will be performing the Oscar-nominated song, ‘How Far I’ll Go.’ If this wins, Miranda will become the youngest EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards) winner in history.
Sting will be performing ‘The Empty Chair’ from Jim: The James Foley Story, and Justin Timberlake will be performing ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’ from the animated movie, Trolls.
And last but definitely not the least, for the critically-acclaimed movie-musical La La Land, John Legend will be performing ‘Audition (The Fools Who Dream)’ and ‘City of Stars’, whose lyrics were written by the Broadway singer-songwriter tandem, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul and music by Justin Hurwitz.
We don’t know about you but this has always been our favorite part of the entire ceremony.
You can catch the award ceremony live on HBO at February 27, 2017, 8am (Manila time).
