Book and Lyrics by Eljay Castro Deldoc
Musical Direction by Yuri Sta. Maria
Direction by Eljay Castro Deldoc and Joe Garcia
Synopsis
Street-smart and ordinary Karl Vladimir Lennon J. Villalobos, aka Intoy, is unwittingly fallen into a friend-with-benefits situation with his rich, mysterious, and quirky classmate Jenny. Slowly, as they explore and discover each other’s anatomy, Jenny opens up to Intoy, revealing the vulnerable center to her seemingly impervious facade. But poor, confused Intoy isn’t really equipped to deal with the feelings — and surprises — involved. Adapted from Eros Atalia’s novel, “Ligo na U, Lapit na Me: The Musical” is an examination of postmodern love and relationships and the way this generation deals with their desires and fears.
About the Theater Company
Tabsing Kolektib is a Manila- and Laguna-based theatre guild that is comprised of skilled practitioners committed in advancing theater arts as an essential tool to influence societal awareness, professional growth, and artistic development. “Tabsing” is the Tagalog word for estuary, a body of water formed where freshwater from rivers and streams flows into the ocean, mixing with the seawater. With this principle, Tabsing Kolektib realizes its similarity with an estuary, where the guild serves as the rendezvous of theatre artists who strive for cultural and artistic excellence. Tabsing Kolektib also believes that theatre is the estuary of all art forms, thus the tagline “Teatro Ang Bukal ng Sining”.
