Late Late Show Host James Corden to host 2016 Tony Awards
According to Theater Mania, the Tony Awards found its new host in James Corden. The 37-year-old Tony winner and TV talk show host will be emceeing this year’s awards on June 12th at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.
Corden, a film and theater actor, is best known for playing the lead part in One Man, Two Guvnors, a comedy for which he won the 2012 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play. He also played the Baker in the 2014 film adaptation of Into the Woods and is also the host of The Late Late Show with James Corden.
He also co-created, co-wrote and starred in the BBC sitcom Gavin & Stacey from 2007-2010, where won the BAFTA Television Award for Best Comedy Performance. His contribution and services to drama led him to be appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2015 New Year Honours.
