Scene Change, which just closed its run of Dagitab at the Power Mac Center Spotlight Blackbox Theater this afternoon, is returning this October with a rerun of 3 Upuan—this time featuring an all-new cast.

Written and directed by Guelan Varela-Luarca, 3 Upuan has been staged three times in three different venues: from its premiere in late 2024 at the Hyundai Hall Dressing Room, to a February 2025 run at Areté’s Campos Laboratory, and an August 2025 run at Archivo 1984 in Makati.

For its fourth run, the production returns to Areté, this time at the Ateneo Art Gallery. Seating remains limited, with only 60 seats available per show.

Original cast members Jojit Lorenzo (Jers), Martha Comia (Jai), and JC Santos (Jack)—who are also Scene Change partners—will be passing the baton to a new ensemble: Paolo O’Hara, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, and Cris Pasturan, respectively.

Joining Luarca on the creative and production teams are Maliana Beran (stage management), Teia Contreras (assistant direction and video projection), Anyah and Katriel Garcia (movement), D Cortezano (set and lighting design), Julia Vaila (sound design), and Nyssa Bianzon (technical direction).

3 Upuan is a play that explores notions of time, grief, and family through the lens of siblings awaiting their father’s passing. The show will run from October 17–19 and 24–26, 2025 at 7 PM, at the Ateneo Art Gallery in Areté, Ateneo de Manila University.

Tickets are priced at PHP 1,600 and are now available for purchase via the group’s Google Form.
