DLSU Harlequin Theatre Guild, De La Salle University Manila’s premier theatre organization, is once again opening its stage to Lasallians and theater enthusiasts alike through its annual DuLa Salle production, which will run from March 11 to 14, 2026, entitled DuLa Salle 2k25: Tawong Lipod.
DuLa Salle 2k25: Tawong Lipod will stage four one-act plays that draw from the personal diary of DLSU Department of Literature professor Dr. Jazmin Llana during the Martial Law years, woven together through her studies on dotoc, a Bicolano ritual symbolizing pilgrimage and purpose. This production will be portraying a spiritual and emotional journey of resistance, revealing how Dr. Llana’s experiences inspired her discovery of different forms of activism amid oppression and the struggle for hope.
Paraluman
The show will run on from March 11 to 14 at 1 PM and 6:30 PM at the Natividad-Fajardo Auditorium, De La Salle University – Manila. Tickets are priced at P350 and can be purchased through Ticket2Me or through the organization’s Google Form.
2. Bangaw by FEU Theater Guild

In its 92nd season, the Far Eastern University Theater Guild (FTG) presents BANGAW, a Filipino play with music adapted from William Golding’s classic story, Lord of the Flies. Written by Gold Villar-Lim (book and lyrics), with music by Vince Lim, and directed by PETA Senior Artist-Teacher and FTG Artistic Director Dudz Teraña, the production explores the meaning of survival through a distinctly Filipino lens.
Set on a remote island in Visayas, Bangaw follows a group of high school students from different schools who end up stranded after a plane crash. With no adults, no government, and no rules, their attempt to reconstruct order quickly unravels. What begins as a mission of survival is disrupted by a growing fascination with hunting and the belief that a monster lurks in the forest. The group fractures further after a boar is killed and its head transformed into an idol—the Lord of the Flies. A hallucination is mistaken as proof of the monster’s existence, sparking a killing frenzy that claims two lives and brings their fragile civilization to brutal collapse.
Rooted in contemporary cultural and political realities, the production interrogates leadership and identity in a society shaped by the consequences of the present. Through an ensemble-driven performance, the play becomes a reflection on what it means to inherit a fractured world—and the responsibility that comes with shaping what follows.
At the center of Bangaw is Raf (Sam Siasoyco IAS ‘29), whose attempt to uphold order becomes a fragile anchor amid growing unrest. Opposing him is Jack (Aldin Covarrubias ITHM ‘28, Dave Bambang IARFA ‘29), whose descent into dominance and violence drives the group apart. Caught between reason and survival are the twins Sam (Dianne Andallo ITHM ‘26, Trisha Nilayan IAS ‘29) and Erich (Maria Ysabel delos Reyes IAS ‘27, Althea Sibulo FIT ‘27), while Simone (Heleina Li IAS ‘26, Julia Nicole Ramas FIT ‘26) emerges as a quiet moral compass. Adding complexity is Tabeks (Jharelle Villalobos IAS ‘27, Edrud Madalan FIT ‘27), who challenges rigid hierarchies, while the younger children—Tiny (Marjorie Uson IAS ‘27, Francine Galvez IAS ‘28), Matty (Melenne Hokase IAS ‘28, Margarita Barrameda IAS ‘26), and Caleb (Julian Rafael Anabo IAS ‘27, Lorenze Moral IAS ‘26)—align with Raf, embodying innocence and vulnerability amid chaos.
Supporting Jack are Apple (Janae Dionisio IAS ‘28, Ayessa Raymundo IAS ‘28), Pat (Bjorn Pestaño IAS ‘26, Charlene Libo-on IAS ‘28), Phil (Zoe Sisam IAS ‘29, Shekinah Resurreccion FIT ‘27), Robert (Justin Abalos IAS ‘28, Renz Dotillos IAS ‘26), Morris (Kevin Ricaforte IAS ‘28, Miguel Galpo IAS ‘28), and Roger (Shawn Tarala IAS ‘27, Kirstan Orbegoso IAS ‘27), forming a choir-like faction that amplifies tension.
The ensemble is rounded out by Marc Ducut IAS ‘27, Kristian Samson IAS ‘26, Johann Umali IAS ‘29, John Andrei Cruz IAS ‘29, and Cris Jay Cabides IAS ‘29. Hovering over the narrative is the haunting Panginoong Bangaw, while the Piloto will be alternately portrayed by Aldin Covarrubias and Dave Bambang. Parachutists serve as distant echoes of the adult world left behind.Bangaw will run at the FEU Center for the Arts Studio on the following dates:
March: 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28

3. Ang Kaliitan ng Kasalukuyan by Dulaang UP

Dulaang UP revives the UP Playwrights’ Theatre, now called DUP Playwrights and currently in its 29th season, with the play Ang Kaliitan ng Kasalukuyan, written and directed by the company’s artistic director, Arlo Deguzman.
Written from a place of diasporic experience, this piece is a contemporary work that tackles the emotional landscape of, and serves as an ode to, our present-day heroes: Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). These stories, embodied in movement and lyric, aim to negotiate the melancholically veiled struggles of an OFW: a father’s frustration from unending remittances, a mother seeking to make the sacrifice worthwhile, a sister negotiating the promise of separation, and a son bearing the silence of a deafening burden.
Industry professionals and students will work more closely with each other as alumni, returning artists, and new guest artists lead the ensemble. These include Sandino Martin, Tess Jamias, Fermin Villegas, Sheryll Ceasico, Marichu Belarmino, Jojo Cayabyab, Hazel Maranan, Domileo Espejo, and Mitzie Lao. Current artist-scholars Kerr Allen, Angel Manansala, Raymond Aguilar, Julianne Quimio, Ralph Onrubia, Janae Delos Santos, and Cy Guerrero work alongside the professionals.
The artistic team is likewise composed of alumni, previous guest artists, and artists-in-training—from freshmen to graduating students. Joining Arlo Deguzman are Angel Dayao for music direction and sound design, together with Neil Shane Alcain and Jisu Jang; siglo for puppetry design; Jonas Gabriel Garcia for dramaturgy; Kirby Dunnzell as movement collaborator; Aaron Misayah for scenic design; Tilda Oreta for costume design; Third Salamat for lighting design; and Jada Bartolome for projection design.
The production will run from March 12, 2026 to March 29, 2026 at the IBG-KAL Theater, UP Diliman; Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30PM, and Saturdays and Sundays at 2:30PM and 7:30PM. Tickets are available via Ticket2Me.net with the following prices:
