“The Wind in the Willows” Musical Now Streaming Online
The Wind in the Willows musical started streaming at 10pm last night and will only be available for 48 hours.
For the first time this year, The Shows Must Go On, which streams shows on its YouTube channel every Saturday, is streaming a musical mid-week.
The Wind in the Willows premiered in October 2016 at the Theatre Royal in Plymouth. The streaming production was filmed in 2017, the year it opened at the West End’s London Palladium. It is written by Julian Fellowes (book), with music and lyrics by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, based on the 1908 novel of the same name written by Kenneth Grahame. It is directed by Rachel Kavanaugh.
The story follows Ratty, Badger, Mole and the impulsive Toad as they embark on a series of adventures spiralling from Toad’s insatiable need for speed. The cast features Rufus Hound (Toad), Denise Welch (Mrs. Otter), Craig Mather (Mole), Neil McDermott (Chief Weasel), Gary Wilmot (Badger), and Simon Lipkin (Ratty).
The Shows Must Go On has been streaming musicals for free since as early as April this year, including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Phantom of the Opera, Love Never Dies, Cats, and most recently, The War of the Worlds.
