Broadway Wonder Boy Aaron Tveit and Rachel Tucker sing Defying Gravity

Aaron Tveit, who played Fiyero in Broadway back in 2008, and Rachel Tucker, who currently plays Elphaba, sing a mesmerizing duet of Wicked’s most show-stopping number, Defying Gravity.

The two stars sing this as the first part of the Out of Oz series, where past and present members of the Broadway cast sing different songs from the musical.

Aaron Tveit is most well-known for originating the roles of Gabe in Broadway’s Next to Normal back in 2009, and Frank Abagnale Jr. in Broadway’s Catch me if You Can back in 2011. He also played the role of Enjolras in the 2012 film adaptation of Les Miserables.

Rachel Tucker played Elphaba from 2010-2012 in the West End production of Wicked. She also played Meg Dawson in Sting’s Broadway production of The Last Ship, which closed last January 2015.

Wicked opened in Broadway in 2003 and still remains as one of Broadway’s highest-grossing productions. Music and lyrics was written by Stephen Schwartz.
