WATCH: “Part of Your World”, “Under the Sea”, and More from ABC’s “The Little Mermaid Live”
US television network ABC has just aired its live telecast of “The Little Mermaid live” starring Auli’i Cravalho as Ariel. Jodi Benson, the original voice of Ariel in the 1989 animated movie, began the evening by saying, “I am so thrilled to be here. I can’t believe it has been over 3 decades since I sang ‘Part of Your World’ for our new, exciting, Disney animated musical called, ‘The Little Mermaid.'”
“We celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of the most beloved Disney films of all time with the unique musical presentation– half our original film, half live spectacle, but 100% pure Disney magic.”
Cravalho is joined by Queen Latifah as Ursula, Shaggy as Sebastian, John Stamos as Chef Louis, and Graham Phillips as Prince Eric. The live concert weaved together Alan Menken and Howard Ashman’s songs from the original 1989 animated Disney movie, as well as songs from the Broadway production, where Glenn Slater also served as lyricist.
