‘Walang Aray’ Announces Shaira Opsimar and Jon Abella as Alternate Leads
PETA has just announced a third set of leads for its upcoming musical, Walang Aray.
Shaira Opsimar and Jon Abella will be joining the cast of Walang Aray as Julia and Tenyong, alternating alongside previously announced leads Marynor Madamesila and Gio Gahol, and Alexa Ilacad and KD Estrada.
The cast also includes Jarred Jaicten as Miguel, Kiks Baento as Monica, Carlon Matobato as Lucas, Gie Onida and Norbs Portales as Don Tadeo, Neomi Gonzales as Juana, John Moran as Padre Alfaro, and Tom Bienvenida, Donn Boco, Gerard Dy, Yeyin Dela Cruz, Ada Marie Tayao, and Ayla Garcia as members of the ensemble. Csai Habla and Gardo Exconde are cast as the swings.
Based on Severino Reyes’ Walang Sugat, Walang Aray is a new musical that mashes the classic with contemporary language, funk and pop tunes, and tongue-in-cheek humor. It is written by Rody Vera and directed by Ian Segarra, with music by Vince Lim.
