This year’s Tony Awards ceremony, which was set to air on June 7 at the Radio Music Hall in New York City, has been postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

This comes on the heels of Broadway cancelling all performances until April 12.

The ceremony will be rescheduled at a later date, in coordination with its broadcast partner, as mentioned in a statement released earlier today. Nominations were slated to be announced on April 28.

According to Broadway.com, shows that were supposed to open during the shutdown include Six, Company, Caroline, or Change, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Diana, Mrs. Doubtfire, Hangmen, The Minutes, and The Lehman Trilogy, while Flying Over Sunset was supposed to start previews on March 12.

Variety reports that Who’s Afraid of Virgina Woolf? and Hangmen have opted to close before opening, while Caroline, or Change will be moved to the fall. Postponements or cancellations for the other shows have yet to be announced.

The UK’s Olivier Awards has also been cancelled in light of the pandemic.
