Shakespeare Stories for Children to Stream
As part of their “Tales for Winter” digital series, the Royal Shakespeare Company will be streaming modern versions of the Bard’s most well-known plays for the next five weeks.
Award-winning British author Michael Morpurgo, best known for his children’s novel War Horse (on which the stage play is based), has adapted five plays in a series called “Tales from Shakespeare.” The iconic characters have been relocated to contemporary settings while maintaining the essence of every story. Morpurgo has also adjusted these normally heavy dramas to make them appropriate for children aged six to sixteen.
Each play will be streamed free to UK schools at 11 AM UK time (7 PM Philippine time) every Friday for five weeks and then made available for anyone to buy and watch for up to seven days beginning the following Monday. Each performance runs for 45 minutes.
