Pulso Pilipinas I and II, the first two productions of the CCP Dance Series (Live!) will shine the spotlight on the iconic works of two living National Artists for Dance, Alice Reyes and Agnes Locsin, as well as showcase the talents of dancers from all over the country.

Pulso Pilipinas I, which will run from September 23 to 24, aims to celebrate unity in dance by featuring a diverse dance culture and showcasing works from various dance styles and regions. Through the CCP Arts Education Department, the show features select Regional Dance Training Program grantees who have been mentored by professional dancers of the PASP over the course of the pandemic.

Regional dance groups such as Guang Ming College Hiraya, UE Silanganan Dance Troupe, Teatro de Baile de Cavite, Sorsogon National High School, regional dance students, and professional dance artists will be performing new and classic works. The pieces by the two National Artists are “Company” by Alice Reyes and “Moriones” by Agnes Locsin. Other featured works include “We Men” by Lester Reguindin, “Mamang Kutsero” from Edna Vida’s “Ensalada,” and  Ronelson Yadao and Marco Viana’s take on Denisa Reyes’ 1991 piece “Asong Ulol.”
