Musical Theater Meets Spoken Word in Cocoon

Musical Theater Meets Spoken Word in Cocoon

Cocoon
(n) a silky case spun by the larvae of many insects for protection in the pupal stage
(v) envelop or surround in a protective or comforting way

The cocoon is a symbol for many things, most notably protection and change. CTFX Creatives invites you to a night of transformation through musical theater woven together by spoken word.

Cocoon

Performers Cara Barredo, Matthew Barbers, Daniel Delgado, Jay Pangilinan, and Sam Sewell facilitate the change and take you on a journey through a world filled with doubt, danger, and despair, all the while wrapping you in a comforting cocoon as we wait for the process to reach its end and the answers to make themselves known—a reminder that the going gets tough, but we are tougher.

Performers

Cara Barredo
She has been on stage since she was 7 years old. A musical theatre lover, a performer and a teacher. The theatre is her home and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Matthew Barbers
A new face to the professional theatre world with a lot of tricks under his hat. He can dance, he can sing, and with hopes of breaking down and bettering societal norms, he stitches words that rattle perspectives while beautifully making sense.

Daniel Delgado
Daniel grew up in the world of Repertory Philippines. He started acting at the age of 9. His other love, dance, led him to Groove Central, where he joined a workshop and has since become a member of Alliance. A hip hop dance crew that represents the Philippines internationally and a dance crew where he gets to hone his talent in movements.

Jay Pangilinan
Theatre Actor and Musical Arranger. A lover of the stage. Jay has done a numerable amount of theatre productions and is no stranger to the stage.

Sam Sewell
Sam made her return to the theatrical world in this year’s FringeMNL Festival. It’s been a while since then, so it’s just about time we see how far this butterfly’s flown.
