‘Mula sa Buwan’ Announces Cast Changes

As previously reportedMula sa Buwan is set to return to the Samsung Performing Arts Theater this December after running from August 26 to September 18.

But for the upcoming run, producing company Barefoot Theatre Collaborative has just announced a few casting changes. Christian, who was most recently played by Markki Stroem, will now be played by MC Dela Cruz, who has been playing the role of Maximo since 2016.

Cedrick Juan, who will be joining the company for the first time, will be stepping in to play the role of Maximo, Roxane’s rich suitor and Cyrano’s archenemy. Khalil Tambio, who was a member of the ensemble during the August-September run, will now be playing Limon, Christian’s cousin and one of Cyrano’s cadets, a role most recently played by Stephen Viñas (he is currently serving as choreographer for REP’s Carousel).

The rest of the cast will all be reprising their roles– Myke Salomon as Cyrano, Gab Pangilinan as Roxane, Phi Palmos as Rosanna, Jon Abella as Tato, Jillian Ita-as as Gabriel, Abe Autea, Jep Go, Rapah Manalo, and Ericka Peralejo (cadets), and Miah Canton, Francis Gatmaytan, Mitzie Lao, Deborah Lemuel, Mark Anthony Grantos, Eizel Marcelo, Kinnara Mayari, Ace Polias, Liway Perez, Lance Reblando, Mikaela Regis, Chesko Rodriguez, Keith Sumbi, and Shaira Opsimar as members of the ensemble.

Directed by Pat Valera, Mula sa Buwan is an original Filipino musical based on Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac and Soc Rodrigo’s Filipino translation. The show is created by Pat Valera and William Elvin Manzano.

Other members of the creative team include Myke Salomon (musical direction), Ohm David (set design), Meliton Roxas (lighting design), JM Cabling (choreography), Bonsai Cielo (costume design), and Mikko Angeles (assistant direction).

The show will run on December 2-4 and 9-11 (10 shows only) at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater of Circuit Makati. You can check Ticketworld for tickets.
