‘Maynila Sa Mga Kuko ng Liwanag’ Musical to Be Restaged in 2022

‘Maynila Sa Mga Kuko ng Liwanag’ the musical is set to be restaged in July 2022.

The musical, which originally ran in 2017 is planning a restaging mid next year should audience protocols during that time become more conducive to live audiences.


In the meantime, the production is currently hosting open auditions for anyone interested:

Auditions are on Saturday, December 18 from 4PM to 8PM at Fullhouse Asia Production Studios, Inc. 2288 Chino Roces Ext. Ave, Magallanes, Makati.

‘Maynila Sa Mga Kuko ng Liwanag’ is a novel by Edgardo Reyes and adapted into film by Lino Brocka. It tells the story of a young man from the province, Julio Madiaga, going to the city to look for his lost love, Ligaya Paraiso.

The 2017 musical production starred Arman Ferrer, Shiela Valderrama-Martinez, Lara Maigue, Floyd Tena, Noel Rayos, Rafa Siguion-Reyna, Joseph Puducay, Aicelle Santos, Rita Daniela, Ima Castro, Dulce and more.

Directed by Joel Lamangan. Choreography by Douglas Nierras, music and composition by Von De Guzman, lighting design by Joey Nombres, and production design by Ohm David.

No word yet on final casting nor final venue for the restaging.
