DUP’s King Lear/Haring Lear is re-imagined and set in the waning years of a mythical Southeast Asian kingdom replete with appropriate and enchanting music, movement, costumes and properties of the region. The production presents the play in a setting closer to the imagination of the audience and at the same time presenting the themes, images, and original poetry of Shakespeare’s supreme achievement.
