He has done it! Tony winning Filipino Broadway producer Jhett Tolentino has won the Grammy for co-producing the album for The Color Purple!

He wins the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album with his fellow producers Stephen Bray, Van Dean, Frank Filipetti, Roy Furman, and Scott Sanders. Other nominees in the category are ‘Waitress’, ‘Bright Star’, ‘Fiddler on the Roof’, and ‘Kinky Boots’. Last year’s winner was none other than Lin-Manuel Miranda’s ‘Hamilton’.

Tolentino won Tony Awards for producing the play ‘Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike’ in 2013, and for producing ‘A Raisin in the Sun’ and ‘A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder’ in 2014. He is one step closer to get that coveted EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony)!!!
