Jett Pangan Joins ‘Dirty Old Musical’ Rerun

Spotlight Artists Centre is bringing back its original jukebox musical, ‘Dirty Old Musical’ (D.O.M.), this February to March.

Playfully naughty and irreverent, the musical takes a peek into the struggles of five men dealing with middle age crisis and all its telltale signs. The story revolves around The Bench Boys, an all-male ’80’s group which disbanded due to personal issues. After several decades, they attempt to reunite to hold a fundraising concert for an ailing former member.

The musical first opened in September 2016 at the Music Museum starring John Arcilla (Freddie), Michael Williams (Stan), Nonie Buencamino (Spanky), Robert Seña (Eugene), and Bo Cerrudo (Greggy). It had a rerun last January 2017 with Carlo Orosa replacing Williams. For the 2019 rerun, Jett Pangan replaces John Arcilla in the role of Freddie.

D.O.M. is based on a libretto written by Rody Vera. It is directed Dexter Martinez Santos, with musical direction by Myke Salomon.

OPM 80’s hits include Kastilyong Buhangin, Mag Exercise Tayo Tuwing Umaga, Nais Ko, Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika, Babae, Legs, Ang Himig Natin, Sana, Pag Tumatagal Lalong Tumitibay, Pasumpa-sumpa Ka Pa, Kung Liligaya Ka, Ayoko na Sa’yo, Balatkayo, and Farewell.

The show will run from February 22 to March 23 at the Music Museum.

The original version of this article said that Carlo Orosa was also a new replacement to Williams. We apologize for the error.
