1. Karla Garcia and David Guzman’s Dance Workshops


Karla Garcia, a Filipino-American Broadway performer, and David Guzman (Hamilton, Stephen Spielberg’s West Side Story), will be holding a dance workshop on August 16, 11am to 2pm at the G-Force Dance Studio ( IL Terrazzo Penthouse, QC).

Karla Garcia, a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, has performed on several television programs, films, National Tours, and Broadway shows – the most recent being Hamilton, where she was a swing for four years.

She also choreographed additional scenes in the upcoming the Netflix film Tick Tick Boom, directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Other choreographic credits include Encores! Off-Center production of Gone Missing, the Prospect Theater Company production of 1001 Nights and A Day, and Virginia Repertory’s production of In the Heights.

David Guzman is currently the Dance Captain, swing, and understudy of John Laurens/ Philip Hamilton in Hamilton on Broadway. David left high school at age 17 to join Newsies on Broadway. His other credits include playing a principal Lost Boy in NBC’s Peter Pan Live, Graffiti Pete in In The Heights at North Carolina theater, and Tino in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story.

2. Workshop Weekends with PETA


PETA’s Workshop Weekends are back with Hyflex classes- a combination of face-to-face workshops and online learning, this September.

The program opens on September 10, 2022 with the following courses:

  • Theater Arts for the beginner looking to explore the performance arts
  • Basic Acting for the experienced performer looking to up their skills
  • Creative Musical Theater for the musically-inclined looking to improve their musical performance

All six (6) face-to-face classes will be held at the PETA Theater Center and all four (4) online sessions on Zoom.

Workshop dates:
September 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25, October 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16

Time:
Theater Arts AM class: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Theater Arts PM class: 3:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Basic Acting: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Creative Musical Theater: 3:30 PM – 8:30 PM

Fee: P13,000
